When you click points around a lawn, bed, driveway, or roof, each corner is a real latitude/longitude, so the tool computes a geodesic area — the same spherical-geometry method surveyors' tools use — instead of a flat pixel estimate. For bulk materials the formula is cubic yards = area × depth(in) ÷ 324, plus a waste allowance; sod comes back in rolls and pallets, seed and fertilizer by the pound. Add your unit price for an instant material cost. Measurements are best-effort estimates from imagery — confirm critical numbers on site.
